JACKSONVILLE, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 06/02/11 -- EverBank is the title sponsor of the 21st annual Jacksonville FOODFIGHT benefiting Second Harvest North Florida. EverBank has backed the event for the past seven years. Volunteers from over 50 local restaurants will gather at EverBank Field's Touchdown Club East to display their trademark dishes. An estimated 1,500 guests are set to join this year in "taking a bite out of hunger." Last year's event raised a record $95,000.
Guests will sample an array of food, wine and spirits, as well as enjoy live entertainment and a silent auction. A raffle will also be held. Raffle tickets may be purchased for $100 at the FOODFIGHT website and during the event. Prizes include $5,000 cash, a 2011 Harley-Davidson or a pair of "his and hers" 2011 Yamaha scooters. The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET. General admission tickets are $60; $70 at the door. VIP tickets are $85 and include access to a VIP tasting reception and premier seating throughout the night.
Second Harvest serves 18 North Florida counties providing food and groceries to those in need, as well as education about local hunger and ways it can be prevented. One dollar donated to Second Harvest provides a hungry person with seven meals.
