--Mobile Kitchen Solutions Rises to the Challenge on Kitchen Complexes for Boeing and Texas A&M --
Mobile Kitchen Solutions, a division of Rental Solutions, announced today the completion of two of their most challenging kitchen complex projects to date for Boeing Airport in Charleston, South Carolina and Texas A&M in Galveston, Texas.
Beginning March 5, 2011 Rental Solutions was contracted to build a mobile kitchen unit at the Boeing Airport facility in Charleston, South Carolina. This complex was to measure 50ft x 66ft and serve as a temporary kitchen and dining facility while Boeing renovates their current building. The kitchen complex was officially opened on 3/28/2011.
The Boeing facility, which provides seating for 80 people, features everything from food service lines, Coca Cola dispensing machines, sandwich bars and sandwich slides to a fully-equipped kitchen complete with double stack ovens, dishwashers, walk-in refrigerator, walk-in freezer, stainless steel tables and much more.
"Outside of this project having a tight deadline, it was especially tricky," stated Tom Brown, Jr., Vice President of Rental Solutions, "The Charleston Health Department required the facility to be air tight. And for a temporary structure, that required a creative solution. We rose to the challenge and were able to pull it off. We met code and were up and running right on schedule."
Although this is a clear span structure, it was constructed with a drop ceiling and both air intake and exhaust for air quality control. Manifolds that separate the kitchen from the dining area by hard walls and double doors were also constructed to meet the strict health code requirements.
Upon completion of the Boeing facility Mobile Kitchen Solutions began construction on another mobile kitchen complex for Texas A&M University in Galveston, Texas. This two-phase mobile kitchen complex will temporarily replace their current kitchen facilities while they complete renovations. The first phase of this project was completed on 5/23/2011 and features a 16ft x 50ft kitchen facility, including a large kitchen facility with hard walls, HVAC units, metal halide lighting, and a vinyl floor. The kitchen comes complete with dishwashers, sinks, double stack ovens, flat top burners, warming cabinets, freezers and wide variety of other kitchen implements.
The second phase of this project will call for a 5000 square foot dining facility complete with tables, chairs and HVAC units. Phase two is scheduled for this August.
