Three-Year Contract Provides Defense Department, Federal Civilian and Intelligence Agencies Access to Company's Cybersecurity Consulting Services
Telos® Corporation was awarded a new blanket purchase agreement (BPA) by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) for information security consulting services.
The three-year BPA will allow all federal civilian, intelligence community and Department of Defense (DoD) agencies to obtain assistance from Telos and the other awardees with initiatives designed to improve the security of government information systems by increasing expertise and reducing the cost of acquiring National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) services.
"This agreement supports the Information Security Line of Business under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and will improve the information security posture of various federal agencies by drawing on security experts in the private sector to provide critical IT security services across the full spectrum of threats, vulnerabilities, and risks agencies face on a daily basis," said John Wood, chairman and CEO of Telos Corporation. "Telos' cybersecurity consultants will bring to the table their long history of performing security assessments, deploying automated security authorization solutions, and delivering industry-leading continuous monitoring solutions, including Xacta technology, across the federal government."
Services available under this BPA include all six phases of the RMF as described in NIST 800-37, integrating security throughout a system's development lifecycle, and services to be provided at any given point in its lifecycle. These services will assist organizations in identifying the proper level of protection necessary, selecting and implementing security controls to provide the required protection, determining if security controls are working correctly, assessing risks and authorizing systems, and monitoring controls to verify they are kept up to date and continue to operate correctly. Services provided will comply with all federal cybersecurity mandates and guidance, including the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and NIST standards, and will help agencies to maintain the authority to operate (ATO) systems through a vigorous continuous monitoring process emphasized by recent DHS FISMA reporting guidance.
