ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS
Kazakhstan Kagazy PLC ('Group' or 'Kagazy') announces that two new
Directors were appointed to the Board.
At the meeting held on 30 November 2011 the Board of Directors of
Kazakhstan Kagazy PLC appointed Mr. John Khabbaz and Mr. Martin Quirke as
non-executive directors with immediate effect.
Mr Martin Quirke was until recently the CEO of Bakcell, a leading mobile
operator in Azerbajan. He has held several board, executive and operational
roles in the telecommunication industry for Cable&Wireless, in Kazakhstan,
Thailand, Vietnam, China and Russia. He served as the President of the
American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan from 2002 to 2006.
Mr John Khabbaz is a Managing Director of Witter International, a New York
based asset manager, and Fund Manager of the Phoenician Capital LLC, a
Global Value Fund part of Witter Group of Funds. He was the Founder and CEO
of International Cotton, a major manufacturer of private-label knitwear
products which he successfully sold in 2003. Mr Khabbaz holds an M.B.A. in
Finance from Columbia Business School of New York, USA, and a Bachelor of
Commerce degree from McGill University of Montreal, Canada.
Mr Tomas Mateos Werner, Chairman of the Board, commented: 'I welcome Martin
and John to our Board. They will assist us in strengthening the operational
and financial capabilities of the Group to continue delivering good
results.'
