Over the course of two days, CEO-Roundtable's members convened at Babson College's Executive Conference Center to listen, laugh, cry, sing, and let their comrades peek at their soul.
CEO Roundtable completed its annual Retreat last week. "We were a band of brothers for two days," said Loren Carlson, Chairman, CEO and Founder of CEO Roundtable.
"The humanities are wasted on the young," explained Carlson. "The CEO Roundtable Annual Retreat brings the arts and humanities to CEOs who are open to reflection and seek wisdom. In short, we marry the humanities with the balance sheet."
The theme of the 2012 Retreat was "Telling the Story", co-directed by prominent physician and renowned jazz musician Eli Newberger, MD; and by the preeminent actor Tina Packer, Founding Artistic Director of Shakespeare & Company (Lenox, MA), one of the largest and most critically acclaimed Shakespeare Festivals in North America; assisted by Nigel Gore, an actor with Shakespeare & Company. The program also included four of the most accomplished and well-known jazz musicians performing today: Dr. Newberger (tuba); Ted Casher (clarinet and tenor sax); Jimmy Mazzy (banjo and vocals); Bo Winiker (trumpet), and Bob Winter (piano).
"There are connections to be made, both personal and professional; these bonding opportunities are not always available given our schedules," said Jerry Brecher, CEO of EndoEvolution.
"The Retreat is the one time of the business year that I get to devote to wisdom acquisition," explained Mike Webb, CEO, Allegro Diagnostics.
"The Retreat provided a unique opportunity for both personal and professional growth. It was a truly inspiring event," added Oded Ben-Joseph, CEO of Deep Vein Medical.
"I was intimately and profoundly engaged for the duration of the Retreat," concluded John Williams, CEO of Ovatech. "I was moved. I was inspired. And I am really looking forward to the next Retreat."
