WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Sysco Corp. (SYY) reported that its second-quarter net earnings declined to $250.11 million or $0.43 per share, from $258.17 million or $0.44 per share in the same quarter last year. However, Non-GAAP net income rose to $0.46 per share from $0.45 per share in the year ago quarter. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.44 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items. Sales for the quarter rose to $10.24 billion from $9.38 billion in the prior year quarter. Nine analysts had consensus revenue estimate of $10.04 billion for the quarter.
