COLOGNE (dpa-AFX) - German aviation group Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DLAKY.PK, DLAKF.PK) Thursday reported 1.6 percent growth in traffic for the month of January, while capacity increased 1.1 percent from last year. Load factor improved by 0.4 percentage points to 73.7 per cent. The company attributed growth in capacity to 2.5 percent fewer flights and unit cost improvements.
The Lufthansa group includes Lufthansa Passenger Airlines, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, British Midland, Germanwings and Lufthansa Cargo.
Revenue seat-kilometers for the group increased 1.6 per cent to 14.72 billion from the same month last year, while Available seat-kilometers grew 1.1 percent to 19.96 billion.
Pricing environment was stable for the month. Passenger volume in the month increased 3.9 percent 6.98 million.
