Tokyo, Feb 10, 2012 - (JCN Newswire) - Fujitsu today announced that its ESPRIMO D570/B enterprise desktop PC and proximity sensor-equipped VL-178SRL ECO Plus display have been selected by Kawasaki City to be included in its Low CO2 Kawasaki Pilot Brand for fiscal 2011.
About Low CO2 Kawasaki Pilot Brand'11
In order to support manufacturing for a low-carbon society, the city of Kawasaki, Japan is recognizing the merit of products and technology originating in the city that contribute to a reduction in CO2 emissions throughout their life-cycles. Prior to full implementation starting in fiscal 2012, a trial program, Low CO2 Kawasaki Pilot Brand, is running from fiscal 2009 through fiscal 2011.
Reason for the Selection
ESPRIMO D570/B Enterprise Desktop PC and VL-178SRL ECO Plus Display
1. ESPRIMO D570/B Enterprise Desktop PC
- With a power control feature that reduces CPU power-consumption in stand-by mode, the ESPRIMO D570/B achieves the highest standards of low-power consumption in the industry (approximately 14W).
- As a standard feature, the ESPRIMO D570/B is equipped with an interlocked-power service outlet that simultaneously powers down the display when the main power is switched off, preventing unwanted power consumption when users forget to turn off the display separately.
- The PC also comes standard-equipped with a main switch that reduces energy consumption to zero when in stand-by mode.
2. VL-178SRL ECO Plus Display
- The VL-178SRL ECO Plus display is equipped with a proximity sensor that enables automatic shut-off when the user steps away from the display, thereby lowering power consumption.
By bringing together an energy-saving PC with a display, Fujitsu has achieved a reduction in the volume of life-cycle CO2 emissions by about 28%* compared to previous products (Fujitsu's 2008 models). Included in this figure are the large reductions in CO2 emissions achieved at the materials procurement stage and usage stage.
* 28% reduction: This figure was derived in accordance with the Low CO2 Kawasaki Brand'11 calculation standards, and only applies when the proximity sensor is in operation.
