First Associations Bank's Cat Cotrell, CMCA, PCAM, senior vice president of Marketing and Business Development, and Alan Seilhammer, senior vice president, Community Association Lending Manager, recently hosted a free webinar for Associa board members and community association managers that explained the ins and outs of community association loans.
Associa employees tuned in for the one-hour webinar during which they learned how to obtain the best loan on behalf of their community associations. Based on a poll question at the beginning of the webinar, the majority of those in attendance had never borrowed money for a community association, and therefore found the webinar to be a great education.
Presented by Associa University, the webinar began with an in-depth look at what can be funded and where the process begins for community association loans. Later, Cotrell and Seilhammer discussed loan qualifications, parameters and collateral requirements.
"This was an informative webinar to assist our board members and managers in learning how to acquire community association loans," said Matt Kraft, vice president of training and development at Associa. "Professional development courses like this one give our employees the opportunity to advance their knowledge, and advance their careers. It is one of the reasons why Associa continues to be the leader in community association management."
The webinar concluded with questions ranging from "What is a swap rate?" to "Could you elaborate on borrowing in the event of an inadequate insurance settlement?"
