Rebates of up to 20% to stimulate increased sales, savings and community growth
Your Local Market has created a unique economic development plan by offering its customers the opportunity to become Founding Community Loyalty Members. The program has three levels of participation, and the benefits include a 10-20% rebate on all purchases including wine, beer, and spirits (available in June), as well as free delivery, free food, and other exclusive offers. The membership is good for four years.
The overriding goal of Your Local Market is to do good by doing good for the community. In its initial six months Your Local Market has supported local economic development by employing over 80 people, raised $37,000 for local children's charities and taken an old unoccupied building and recycled it into a new community market. With over 3,000 items in the market from NW companies, they are cycling money into our community. Growing evidence suggests that every dollar spent at a locally owned business generates two to four times more economic benefit—measured in income, wealth, jobs, and tax revenue—than a dollar spent at a nationally owned business. That is because locally owned businesses spend much more of their money locally and thereby pump up the so-called economic multiplier.
By becoming a member of Your Local Market, customers will receive great personal benefits, support their local community, and save money. The membership is for the Bellevue store as well as other locations that they hope to expand into around Western Washington.
The four-year membership has three levels and is available for $500, $1000, and $2000 respectively. Each level has its own unique benefits.
For example, the mid-level "The Shopping Cart", which costs $1000, includes a 15% rebate on all purchases, free monthly meals for four, priority booking and free admission to cooking classes, private invitations to semi-annual town hall meetings, and free delivery to your home or office. And while there is a one-time fee, it can be more than recouped in just one year through normal grocery purchasing. As an example, if a family were to purchase "The Shopping Cart" at a one-time fee of $1,000 and they normally spend $200 a week, they can save $1,560 in year one, or $6240 over four years.
Jason Brown, founder of Your Local Market, believes that the Rewards Program will be a meaningful success for both customers and the market. These memberships will be sold for a limited time.
