"Essential Legal Update for Health Care Providers," a webinar series hosted by the statewide law firm Broad and Cassel, is being launched on Monday, March 26 with a session about new rules related to Medicare and Medicaid overpayments, "Medicare Overpayment Disclosure Requirements: Proposed CMS Requirements."
"Accountable Care Organizations: A Summary of CMS' Final Rule" follows on Friday, April 6 with a review of how the rule will affect the formation and regulation of Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs).
All webinars start at noon and are free and open to physicians and other health care professionals.
Lester Perling, a board-certified health law attorney and partner in the firm's Fort Lauderdale office, will lead a discussion during the March 26 webinar about the proposed rule implementing a 60-day Medicare and Medicaid overpayment repayment obligation. April 16 is the close of the comment period on this rule.
The April 6 webinar features Mike Segal, the chair of the Firm's Health Law Practice Group and a partner in Broad and Cassel's Miami office.
"Fundamental changes to the nation's health care delivery system are occurring at an accelerated rate," he said. "These changes are giving those in the industry the opportunity to reassess their current practices and policies in order to comply with the new regulations and enforcement agendas."
