LONDON (dpa-AFX) - Electrocomponents plc (ECM.L) said Friday it expects pretax profit for the year ending March 31 , 2012 to be on par with the management expectations, on a sales growth of around 7 percent helping annual sales exceed 1.2 billion pounds. The company elaborated that UK sales may improve by around 3 percent, with a 9 percent rise anticipated in International sales.
Further, fourth-quarter sales are seen to edge up by 1 percent, thanks to a 2 percent increase in International sales, but with flat UK sales. The higher International sales, Electrocomponents added, may reflect a 2 percent uptick in Continental Europe sales. Group chief executive Ian Mason added 'this performance is broad-based, with all regions and both electronics and maintenance delivering growth, and is being driven by the continued development of our industry-leading eCommerce channel.'
