Grants to Reward Educators Across the Nation for Focus on Increased Student Achievement, Innovative Teaching Practices, and Closing the Achievement Gap
CompassLearning announced today the CompassLearning Odyssey Innovation Grant program for 2012. The purpose of the grant is to celebrate outstanding examples of increased student achievement through the innovative use of CompassLearning Odyssey. Teachers across the country use CompassLearning Odyssey to create personalized learning programs in elementary and secondary schools that support academic achievement, the development of 21st century skills, and prepare students for college and careers. Applications will be reviewed and a total of $15,000 in grants will be awarded by CompassLearning. Sally M. Reis, Ph.D., a co-creator of CompassLearning's Renzulli Learning, will serve as selection chair.
"This grant program is designed to celebrate the innovative ways teachers are using CompassLearning Odyssey to unlock potential, achieve academic gains, and support personal growth," said Reis. "We're interested in the many ways that educators and students have improved achievement, closed the achievement gap, saved precious time, and increased learning through the use of our research-based curriculum and compelling content, which was designed to meet the personalized needs of each student."
Current educators that have an active CompassLearning Odyssey login are eligible to participate. CompassLearning Odyssey Innovation Grants will be awarded to three educators who can demonstrate success through personalized learning in improving student achievement and/or closing the achievement gap. Preference will be given to those that can reflect improvement on standardized tests.
There is no application fee. Multiple applications are welcome from districts, but each applicant may only apply once. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. ET Friday, September 14, 2012. Grant recipients will be announced no later than October 1, 2012.
