The Premier healthcare alliance today announced that Meridian Bioscience Inc. of Cincinnati has been awarded a Technology Breakthroughs award for its illumigene® illumipro-10® molecular system and its unique use of loop mediated isothermal amplification technology.
Suppliers given a Technology Breakthroughs award demonstrate that their product represents a significant advance in terms of safety, clinical outcomes, process of care, cost savings or operational efficiency.
Effective April 1, 2012, the agreement with Meridian is available to acute care and continuum of care members of Premier.
Meridian joins the following suppliers in Premier's molecular rapid qualitative screening portfolio:
- Cepheid of Sunnyvale, Calif.; and
- GeneOhm Sciences Inc. of La Jolla, Calif.
