PEKING (dpa-AFX) - AsiaInfo-Linkage Inc. (ASIA), a provider of telecommunication software solutions and services in China, posted first-quarter net income available to the company of US$6.4 million or US$0.09 per share, compared to US$17.8 million or US$0.24 per share in the prior year quarter.
Non-GAAP net income for the quarter was US$19.4 million or US$0.27 per share, down from US$32.7 million or US$0.44 per share in the comparable quarter last year. On average, five analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn US$0.26 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Total revenues for the quarter rose to US$123.70 million from US$114.48 million in the prior year quarter, while non-GAAP revenue was $121.15 million, up from $108.57 million in the year-ago period. Four analysts expected revenues of US$119.64 million for the quarter.
Looking ahead to the second quarter, the company expects non-GAAP earnings to be in the range of US$0.26 to US$0.29 per share, and non-GAAP revenue in the range of US$123.0 million to US$125.0 million.
Street analysts expect earnings of US$0.28 per share and revenues of US$124.04 million for the second quarter.
