WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Northeast Utilities (NU) reported first-quarter net income attributable to Controlling Interests of $99.3 million, or $0.56 per share, compared to $114.2 million, or $0.64 per share, in the previous year quarter.
Operating revenues for the quarter declined to $1.10 billion from $1.24 billion in the prior year quarter.
On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.68 per share on revenues of $1.41 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
