WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Technology company Affymetrix, Inc., (AFFX) reported a first-quarter net loss of $4.2 million, compared to a net income of $39 thousand in the previous year quarter. Loss per share for the latest first quarter was $0.06, compared to breakeven in the same quarter last year.
On average, 14 analysts expected the company to report a loss of $0.09 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.
Total revenue for the quarter declined to $65.25 million from $73.72 million in the comparable quarter last year, while thirteen analysts expected revenues of $64.75 million in the quarter.
