WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Nuance Communications Inc. (NUAN), which provides voice and language solutions, Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $0.9 million or breakeven per share, compared to $1.7 million or $0.01 per share last year.
Excluding items, adjusted earnings were $138.8 million or $0.43 per share, compared to $100 million or $0.32 per share a year ago.
Revenue for the quarter was $390 million, up 22.4% from $319 million a year ago. Non-GAAP revenue for the quarter totaled $417.7 million, compared to $332 million last year.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.41 per share and revenue of $412.64 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
