More than half say rising fuel costs won't stop them from vacation;
53% plan to travel by car;
Most Americans are staying within the United States
Rising gas prices won't stop American's from hitting the road this summer with 49% planning a summer vacation according to a new survey from Yahoo! Travel. 58% of those survey stated that gas prices won't affect how far they are willing to drive for vacation. The survey of 1,000 men and women age 18-64 explored American's plans for summer travel.

Exploring the USA
69% of respondents said they would spend their summer vacation in the United States. Could the "staycation" be a thing of the past? Only 13% will remain in their home state according to the Yahoo! Travel survey.
Road Tripping
Although gas prices soared during the past year most vacationers will be road-tripping (53%) to their destination. A little less than half (48%) will fly to their destination, with those between 18 and 34 most likely to take to the air (56%). Of those who fly, 18% plan to go abroad.
Saving while on vacation
Most vacationers (43%) will spend about the same amount of money that they did last year on their summer trip, while about 28% will have a bit more money to spend this year.

How to book
The survey showed that the most popular way to book a vacation is on a travel website, with 60% booking it this way. Another 17% will book with mobile apps or social media, 13%. The most common ways to book hotel stays are directly with the hotel (41%) or on a travel website (38%).
