Sponsorship of N.Y. contemporary arts museum showcases company's dedication to creativity and innovation
Building on its longstanding commitments to the arts and entrepreneurship, Pernod Ricard USA said today that it has become a Corporate Partner of the New Museum, Manhattan's only dedicated contemporary art museum.
The new partnership supports Pernod Ricard USA's pledge to creativity by supporting emerging artists in an innovative environment that has promoted new art and ideas for the last 40 years. The New Museum is respected internationally for the adventurousness and global scope of its programs. The partnership also exemplifies Pernod Ricard's historic commitment to contemporary arts, which includes associations with the George Pompidou Centre in Paris, the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao and the Saatchi Gallery in London.
"We are thrilled to enter into a partnership with the New Museum," said Paul Duffy, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pernod Ricard USA. "Our relationship reflects the creative vitality of the premium offerings of Pernod Ricard's portfolio of wine and spirits. And as a longtime supporter of the arts worldwide, Pernod Ricard is dedicated to fostering the inspiring energy of emerging artists."
"The New Museum is very excited to have Pernod Ricard USA join us as a Corporate Partner," said Regan Grusy, Associate Director and Director of Institutional Advancement. "Pernod Ricard's commitment to art and innovation supports the New Museum's mission of showcasing contemporary art from around the world and exposing audiences to emerging talent and original exhibitions and public programming. The company's support will help us continue bringing new art and new ideas to New York City and beyond."
The partnership gives Pernod Ricard USA the opportunity to sponsor exhibition openings and host branded events at the museum, and gives its employees unlimited gallery access for the duration of the partnership. Pernod Ricard USA will also be granted name recognition in the New Museum Paper and on its Annual Donor Wall, as well as on the museum's website at NewMuseum.org.
The New Museum's commitment to presenting contemporary art from around the world is supported by the entrepreneurial spirit of its founder, Marcia Tucker, who opened the original space in 1977, before the Museum expanded with the opening of its SANAA-designed building on the Bowery in 2007. Pernod Ricard shares that same entrepreneurial ethos, as shown by its amazing success-story.
"Innovation is at the heart of our business and we challenge each one of our employees to be creative," explains Duffy. "The New Museum is a fantastic hub of new thinking and new ideas that we wanted to open to our employees in order to stimulate and inspire their own innovative spirit."
