LUXEMBOURG (dpa-AFX) - Millicom International Cellular (MIICF.PK) Wednesday released the financial results for the second quarter ended 30 June 2912 reporting a marginal drop in Normalized Net profit for the quarter despite rise in total revenues.
The global telecommunications group with mobile telephony operations in 13 countries in Latin America and Africa stated that Normalized Net Profit for the second quarter declined slightly to $176 million from $187 million reported for the corresponding second quarter in 2011.
Normalized earnings per share for the second quarter of 2012 were $1.74, the company stated.
Total revenue for the second quarter, in local currency terms, increased 9.4 percent to $1.18 billion from $1.12 billion reported for the same period last year.
