Nordic Mines AB: The Laiva mine produced 85 kilos of gold during July 2012.

Press release, August 9 2012

In July 2012 the production of gold at the Laiva mine was preliminarily 85 kilos. During the month of July the production reached just over four kilos per day during the best days. The target is to reach a more sustained production rate of five kilos of gold per day before the end of August.

The accumulated gold production at the Laiva mine in Finland was 475 kilos for the first seven months of the year.

The production during July turned out lower than planned due to several stops for adjustments in the plant. Two longer breaks were caused by strikes of lightning, which resulted in damages to electrical components that had to be replaced.

During the first part of August, production has been stopped for a few days due to extreme rainfall in the area. The amount of rain between the third and seventh of August was equivalent to a fourth of the average yearly precipitation in the area. Despite the heavy rain, no water from the mining area has been disposed to the surroundings.
