Columbus A/S discontinues own activities in Poland. Ahead of this decision Columbus has thoroughly examined the possibilities for a restructuring of the Polish business in order to save it.
"We have decided to discontinue our activities in Poland, as the potential for running a profitable business in our auspices is no longer present. We have worked determinedly to handle this challenge optimally in regards to our employees, our customers and our shareholders-, says CEO in Columbus, Thomas Honoré.
The discontinuation of Columbus' activities in Poland will have no impact on our announced expectations for revenues and EBITDA in 2013.
Strategic partnership with XPLUS
In connection with the discontinuation of Columbus' activities in the Polish subsidiary Columbus enters into a strategic partnership with the Polish consultancy and IT company XPLUS. This means, that XPLUS will be the preferred partner and franchisee for Columbus in Poland, and Columbus will be the preferred partner for XPLUS in all countries, where Columbus is represented.
Columbus' current customers in Poland will be encouraged to enter into a new partnership with XPLUS or Columbus' subsidiary in Lithuania.
According to CEO in XPLUS, Karol Sudnik, our strategic partnership will be for the benefit of both companies and our customers.
