Lund, Sweden, 2013-04-18 08:55 CEST (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --
EXINI Diagnostics AB (publ), listed on NASDAQ OMX First North, has launched a major upgrade of the successful EXINI boneBSI (Bonenavi® 1.0 in Japan) to FUJIFILM RI Pharma Co. Ltd. (FRI) after a year of collaborative development work.
Bonenavi 2.0 has been developed together with FRI and several well-reputed Japanese hospitals. The product has a long list of new features and a completely new set of databases, increasing diagnostic accuracy.
Dr. Lars Edenbrandt, Scientific Director, EXINI Diagnostics: "Bonenavi 1.0 has now been used for two years by physicians and technicians at the majority of Japanese hospitals. Thanks to our own front line expertise, the constructive feedback from the hospitals and the support from our Japanese partner FUJIFILM RI Pharma we have been able to deliver a major upgraded product, with increased performance and precision. We are very grateful for all input and support."
Dr. Ken Nakajima, Kanazawa University: "I was involved as coordinator among participating Japanese hospitals in the construction of the new database and the development of the new features for Bonenavi 2.0. I am very pleased with this collaborative development and EXINI's quick response and expertise. We are now going to evaluate and document the performance of the new software."
Toshiya Morita, Marketing Director, FUJIFILM RI Pharma: "We are very pleased with the work EXINI is doing for us. The release of Bonenavi 2.0 is part of the new long-term development discussion-plans that go beyond the earlier business agreement for EXINI boneBSI."
Magnus Aurell, CEO, EXINI Diagnostics: "The development of Bonenavi 2.0 has been a very important experience for us. The combination of EXINI's world leading expert knowledge in advanced image analysis (artificial intelligence) and the valued support from our partner FUJIFILM RI Pharma has raised EXINI boneBSI to a completely new level. Through this project we have clearly demonstrated that we do not only listen to the market - we also deliver what the market is asking for."
FUJIFILM RI Pharma has since early 2011 marketed and installed Bonenavi, the Japanese version of EXINI boneBSI, at clinics throughout Japan. So far, more than 800 systems have been installed.
