WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Hittite Microwave Corp. (HITT) reported net income for the first quarter of $17.6 million or $0.57 per share, compared to $16.0 million or $0.52 per share for the year-ago quarter.
Revenue for the first quarter rose to $67.70 million from $63.32 million in the comparable quarter last year.
On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.56 per share on revenue of $67.48 million for the first quarter.
Looking forward to the second quarter, the company forecast revenue of $66.5 million to $68.5 million and net income of $16.7 million to $17.7 million, or $0.54 to $0.57 per share. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $0.58 per share on revenue of $69.88 million for the second quarter.
