LONDON (dpa-AFX) - Renishaw PLC (RSW.L) said that revenue for the third quarter ended 31st March 2013 amounted to 81.9 million pounds compared to 81.6 million pounds last year.
Cumulative revenue for the nine month increased 12% to 256.1 million pounds from prior year's 228.8 million pounds.
Revenue in the group's metrology sector for the third quarter was 74.7 million pounds, 1 percent lower than the comparable period last year, while healthcare business sector revenue was 7.2 million pounds, an increase of 24%.
Third quarter adjusted profit before tax declined to 16.5 million pounds from 21.4 million pounds reported previous year.
Group headcount at the end of March 2013 was 3,131, up from 3,065 at the end of December 2012 and an increase of 227 since the start of the financial year.
Renishaw stated that based on recent underlying activity levels, it currently expects that revenue in the second half will be at similar levels to revenue in the first half of this fiscal year. The company said it anticipates current year adjusted profit before tax, excluding the exceptional credit of 2.9 million pounds to be around the same level as last year.
