KAHL AM MAIN (dpa-AFX) - Singulus Technologies AG (SGTSY.PK) Wednesday reported a wider loss for the first quarter, in spite a slight increase in sales. The firm further provided outlook for the full-year.
For the quarter the firm posted net loss of 5.9 million euros, wider than the prior-year net loss of 4.7 million euros. On a per share basis net loss totaled 0.12 euros compared with loss of 0.10 last year.
However, earnings before interest and taxes or EBIT for the three months was a loss of 4.9 million euros, but narrower from a loss of 5.7 million euros last year.
The company clocked net sales of 22.8 million euros, up from 16 million euros last year. It attributed the rise in sales mainly to the semiconductor division which contributed 4.1 million euros versus nil last year.
Looking forward, the firm said it expects full-year sales increase across all segments and to conclude the business year with an overall slightly positive operating result or EBIT. It however said including financing expenses a negative full-year result pursuant to IFRS would be incurred. The firm further added that this is based on a very significant rise in sales in the Solar segment. For the segments Optical Disc and Semiconductor Singulus Technologies is projecting a rather modest increase in sales at present.
