COLOGNE (dpa-AFX) - Generali Deutschland Group (GDEUF.PK) reported first-quarter net profit of 104 million euros, compared to 134 million euros last year. The company noted that the result of the first quarter of prior year had been materially influenced by a positive non-recurring tax item. Earnings before tax and finance costs was 149 million euros, compared to 144 million euros last year.
Total premiums rose by 20.6% to 5.40 billion euros. Net investment income was 886 million euros, compared to 892 million euros last year.
Generali Deutschland maintained its target of a net profit of more than 430 million euros for the full year 2013.
