WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. (DVA) Tuesday reported second-quarter profit of $283.36 million or $2.37 per share, up from $120.0 million or $0.99 per share in the comparable quarter last year.
Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $221.5 million or $2.06 per share. On average, 12 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.84 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenues increased to $2.87 billion from $1.91 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $2.88 billion.
Looking ahead, the company has raised its operating income guidance to a range of $1.83 billion to $1.93 billion, up from its previous guidance range of $1.80 billion to $1.90 billion. Analysts currently expect full-year earnings of $7.52 per share.
