RUEIL-MALMAISON (dpa-AFX) - A consortium led by QDVC, a 51% Qatari Diar, 49% Vinci (VCISY.PK) Construction Grands Projets subsidiary, which also includes Qatar's Al-Darwish Engineering company and Korea's GS Engineering and Contracting company, was awarded a contract from Qatar Rail, with a value of about 1.5 billion euros, for the southern works package of the Doha metro red line.
The contract covers design and construction of a dual-tube underground line with a length of 13.8 kilometres between the Doha airport and the Msheireb neighbourhood in the historic centre of the Qatari capital. The red line will be the first of the four planned Doha metro lines. The works will take five years to complete.
