The Board of Directors of Carrefour Group (Paris:CA), which met today, has decided to appoint Philippe Houzé as Observer. He will attend the meetings of the Board of Directors in an advisory capacity.
His appointment as a member of the Board will be proposed to the General Meeting of Shareholders in 2015.
Philippe Houzé is Executive Chairman of the Galeries Lafayette group and Vice-President of Motier, the principal holding company of the Moulin family, which owns 100% of the Galeries Lafayette group.
A graduate of INSEAD, Philippe Houzé began his career at Monoprix in 1969, where he served as Chief Executive Officer (1982-1994) and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (1994-2012). He was Co-Chairman of Galeries Lafayette group from 1998 to 2004 before becoming Executive Chairman in 2005.
