Cloudfind Redefines Collaboration for Dropbox, Google Drive Users

BATH, England, December 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

New App Offers 500m File Sharing Users a Simpler Way to Find, Share and Organize Files

UK tech startup Cloudfind today announced the launch of a new cloud-based app designed to help millions of businesses collaborate more quickly and efficiently - using their existing file sharing platform.

From today, businesses who already use Dropbox or Google Drive can use Cloudfind to locate relevant information consistently within seconds. This eliminates the time spent browsing through folder trees and reviewing pages of keyword search results. Industry reports consistently estimate that employees spend as much as 20% of their working week searching for information.

Cloudfind automatically tags files as they are uploaded to Dropbox or Google, according to the projects, customers, programs or other topics they relate to. Users can then browse for relevant files by using tags, returning precisely relevant results in seconds. Cloudfind's automatic classification technology means that 90% of everyday searches for business files can be satisfied within 5 seconds or less.

In one recent example, Cloudfind was used to automatically categorize 3TB of digital media assets stored in Dropbox, auto-discovering over 1,600 separate tags. This meant that the entire library could be browsed simply and efficiently by anyone in the organization, without routing requests to an administrator or deploying an expensive digital asset management system.

"We now have highly sophisticated ways of sharing files," commented Cloudfind CEO Sebastian Toke-Nichols. "But what's preventing truly effective collaboration is the time it takes to get to what's relevant in any particular context. Cloudfind turns a 10-minute activity into 3 clicks."

The adoption of cloud-based file sharing platforms by businesses is growing rapidly: Dropbox recently passed 100,000 Dropbox for Business users; Google reports over 58% of Fortune 500 companies using Google Drive. Box is the platform of choice for General Electric, Procter & Gamble, and Chevron.

Yet as businesses move billions of files to the cloud, getting to the right information quickly and reliably is getting more difficult. Keyword-based searches return page after page of results, requiring manual filtering. Conventional folder hierarchies are becoming increasingly insufficient as a way to work with complex, inter-related information across distributed project teams.

With the launch of this new cloud-based app, Cloudfind gives users of the world's most popular file sharing platforms an innovative, practical and affordable way to improve collaboration.

CLOUDFIND FEATURES

  • Automatic tagging of Google, Dropbox files - works "out-of-the-box", no setup required
