WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Tinder has launched a premium version of its popular dating app called Tinder Plus, which will cost users $9.99 each month, and double if they are over 30.
In the US, Tinder Plus costs users $9.99 a month for users under 30 years, and $19.99 if users are over 30.
Meanwhile, users under the age of 28 who live in UK will be charged £3.99 ($6) a month for the paid version, while those over 28 will have to pay £14.99 ($23).
In a statement to new website Quartz, Tinder said, 'We've priced Tinder Plus based on a combination of factors, including what we've learned through our testing, and we've found that these price points were adopted very well by certain age demographics. Lots of products offer differentiated price tiers by age, like Spotify does for students, for example.'
'Tinder is no different; during our testing we've learned, not surprisingly, that younger users are just as excited about TinderPlus, but are more budget constrained, and need a lower price to pull the trigger,' the website added.
The premium version includes new features like Passport and Rewind. Passport allows users to change their location to connect with people anywhere in the world by dropping a pin on the map. Rewind allows users to undo their last swipe. If any user accidentally swipes left or right they can go back and change their decision.
Tinder Plus also grants unlimited liking capability for users.
