SUNNYVALE (dpa-AFX) - Maxim Integrated Products Inc. (MXIM) reported a profit for its fourth quarter that increased from last year.
The company said its bottom line climbed to $140.47 million, or $0.49 per share. This was up from $124.09 million, or $0.43 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.48 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter fell 2.8% to $566.13 million. This was down from $582.52 million last year.
