Japan's Solar Frontier plans to start integrating its thin-film PV technologies into materials for walls and roofs, with sales expected to begin before the end of the decade, according to a recent report.The Tokyo-based thin-film solar manufacturer hopes to start selling the new building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) products by the second half of 2019, CEO Atsuhiko Hirano told Bloomberg this week. Hirano said the company will use more aluminum in its new BIPV product offerings, instead of glass to reduce weight.
