Jim Impoco will join the recently announced Conde Nast
business magazine as a deputy editor and Blaise Zerega will join as
the managing editor, Joanne Lipman, the magazine's editor in chief,
announced today. Their appointments are effective January 2006.
"I am thrilled that Jim and Blaise will be joining the magazine," Ms. Lipman said. "They are both tremendously gifted editors who bring their business news expertise and creative thinking to this new venture."
Mr. Impoco comes to Conde Nast from The New York Times where, since 2003, he has been a business editor. He oversaw the re-launch of the Sunday business section in 2004 and the redesign of the Saturday business section earlier this year. Prior to that, he was an assistant managing editor at Fortune and the business & technology editor at US News & World Report. In addition, Impoco was the Tokyo bureau chief and west coast correspondent at US News for twelve years. Impoco graduated with a BA from Amherst College and has a Masters Degree in Japanese History from the University of California, Berkeley.
Mr. Zerega moves from Wired, where, he has been the managing editor since 2002. Prior to that position he was the Editor of Red Herring magazine. In addition, Zerega was news editor at ASAP, the technology supplement of Forbes. He makes frequent media appearances and has appeared on "Today," "The View," "NPR," and "CNN." Zerega graduated from New York University and received his graduate degree in English from University of Texas, Austin.
