Schering-Plough gets FDA fast track for hepatitis C drug

NEW YORK (AFX) - Schering-Plough Corp. said Monday the Food and Drug Administration has granted Fast Track status for the company's oral hepatitis C protease inhibitor -- SCH503034. The Kenilworth, N.J., company said the compound is in Phase II clinical development for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C. Shares of Schering-Plough were down 11 cents at $19.97.
