Mainstream Data announced today that it has entered into
an agreement with Reuters to assume responsibility for content
delivery of Reuters Health information products. Reuters Health is the
world's leading source of medical and healthcare news. Reuters Health
services include Reuters Medical News, Reuters Health eLine, and
Reuters Health Industry Briefing, which are internationally recognized
as unbiased, authoritative, timely, and definitive healthcare
information services.
Under the agreement, Mainstream Data has assumed end-to-end responsibility for Reuters Health content distribution, including application hosting, server management, and support services. In addition to supporting existing Reuters Health products, Mainstream will also make its suite of Medias(TM) applications and services available for future product enhancement. Beyond e-mail and FTP 'pull' delivery, Mainstream's content distribution platform includes MediasFTP(TM) 'push' delivery, MediasNet(TM) for real-time streaming of Reuters content over the Internet, satellite delivery, and the Medias Server(TM), an edge server platform for the capture, manipulation, and display of compelling content.
Reuters chose Mainstream because of its reputation and proven ability to deliver robust, low-cost, and customizable content delivery solutions and its unique ability to integrate the Reuters Health Network platform with other Reuters platforms already running on Mainstream's networks. Mainstream was also chosen in part because of its MDI Technologies network fulfillment group's success in overseeing large scale and complex content distribution network projects including managing the Reuters World News Express rollout, announced last year.
Jeremy Snelling, Director of Reuters Health, noted "Giving Mainstream responsibility for the Reuters Health network was a simple decision; it allowed us to make our operations more efficient, robust, and scalable. Further, by integrating Reuters Health into a platform that is consistent with other Reuters content, we can more easily integrate our products with other Reuters information. Based on our almost twenty year relationship with Mainstream, we knew they could get the job done."
"We are thrilled to deepen our relationship with Reuters to include turnkey network fulfillment for Reuters Health," said Scott E. Calder, President and CEO of Mainstream Data. "This is a true win-win relationship; Reuters Health can focus on creating outstanding content and we can focus on doing what we do best--building no-compromise digital networks."
