MADRID (AFX) - Jazztel PLC said it has appointed Jose Miguel Garcia as chief executive and dismantled its former 'executive committee' led by Rafael Conejos, who has resigned from the company's board for 'personal reasons'.
Jazztel has effectively re-introduced the post of CEO, as the previous tasks of the chief executive were carried out by the 'executive committee'.
In a statement, the telecommunications group said Jose Miguel Garcia plans to continue a cost cutting programme with a targeted return to positive EBITDA during 2007.
Jazztel has suffered rising losses as marketing costs have offset sales growth and is in dispute with Telefonica SA over charges for services carried out by its larger peer. afxmadrid@afxnews.com ped/jg/joy COPYRIGHT Copyright AFX News Limited 2006.
