FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) - Volkswagen AG may take a 20 pct stake in loss-making Malaysian carmaker Proton and will make a final decision no sooner than a supervisory board meeting in February, Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung reported, citing company sources.
Volkswagen is in talks with the Malaysian government over a possible tie-up with Proton and plans to increase in the medium its holding in the company to more than 50 pct in a several steps, it said.
