The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) announced today that its Board of Directors has elected Wenda Harris Millard as Vice Chair. Millard has served on the IAB Board of Directors and its Executive Committee since 2003.
"Wenda is truly a pioneer in our space and has played a critical role in the exponential growth of the interactive advertising industry," said Jim Spanfeller, Chairman of the IAB and President and CEO of Forbes.com. "We are fortunate that she is increasing her already significant role within the IAB."
A seasoned executive with more than 25 years of publishing and advertising experience, Millard was recently named President, Media at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSLO), overseeing MSLO's media businesses, which include Publishing, Internet and Broadcasting. She is charged with expanding the company's presence in the digital space and creating cross-platform opportunities for advertisers to leverage the brand's passionate consumer connection. Previously she held senior positions at Yahoo!, Ziff Davis Media, DoubleClick, SRDS, Family Circle and Adweek magazines. Millard has received numerous industry awards including the American Advertising Federation's Silver Medal Award as "Advertising Person of the Year." Advertising Age named her a "Digital Media Master," acknowledging her as one of the 20 most influential executives in interactive media.

Today, the IAB also announced new appointments to its Executive Committee which oversees the activities of the Board as it relates to the operations of the association. In addition, the IAB's Board of Directors named four new members to its ranks.

NED DESMOND
Ned Desmond is President of Time Inc Interactive, which oversees digital strategy and technology at Time Inc. Prior to TII, he held a number of roles in the San Francisco area, including the editor and president of Business 2.0. Mr. Desmond began his career in journalism at Boston-area newspapers, joined Time magazine in 1984 as a researcher and staff writer, and later served as the New Delhi bureau chief and subsequently the Tokyo bureau chief. He left Time magazine in 1996 to work for search-engine start-up Infoseek in Silicon Valley, where he launched Infoseek Japan in a joint venture with Digital Garage, and later worked with Disney on the creation of Go.com. He is a board member of the Online Publishers' Association and New York University's Master's in Publishing Program.
PETER HORAN
Peter C. Horan is CEO of IAC Media & Advertising. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic growth of the company's Media & Advertising sector, which is comprised of the IAC Search & Media businesses - Ask.com, IAC Advertising Solutions and IAC Consumer Applications & Portals - as well as the Citysearch and Evite brands. Mr. Horan previously served as CEO of AllBusiness.com, Inc. In this capacity, he was responsible for driving a fast-growing web media and e-commerce content business. Under his leadership, AllBusiness.com led the development of a completely new publishing platform for small businesses, while continuing to achieve accelerated site performance.
TAD SMITH
Tad Smith is CEO of Reed Business Information, publisher of Variety and Broadcasting & Cable among over a hundred other franchises, websites, and market research companies. In addition to his Reed responsibilities, Mr. Smith has an adjunct appointment to the Stern School of Business at New York University as professor, where he teaches the course "Strategy and Finance for Entertainment, Media, and Technology Companies." Prior to joining Reed, Mr. Smith worked for McKinsey & Company and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
MATTHEW WISE
Matt Wise was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Q Interactive in July 2006. Mr. Wise joined the company in October of 2004 as Senior Vice President of Marketing and subsequently became Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, through which he led the organization's sales, client services, business development and corporate and consumer marketing teams. Mr. Wise has also held senior management positions with LuckySurf, an entertainment and direct marketing company, Delphion, a spinout of IBM focused on global patent software, and Classified Ventures, an e-commerce company that runs Apartments.com, Cars.com, Homescape and co-branded solutions for 140 newspapers.
