FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) - New orders for machinery and industrial plants placed with German companies in July fell 8 percent in real terms from a year earlier, the VDMA industry association said.
Domestic orders fell 1 percent, while orders from abroad slumped 11 percent, VDMA said in a statement.
The index for orders in the three months from May through July, which is less volatile than the monthly indicator, fell 8 percent year-on-year, with domestic orders down 4 percent and foreign orders down 10 percent.
