TOKYO, Dec 14 (Reuters) - The benchmark Nikkei average and the broader TOPIX both slipped 0.2 percent on Monday.
The following stocks were on the move:
**JAL JUMPS AFTER U.S., JAPAN REACH OPEN SKIES DEAL**
Shares of struggling Japan Airlines jumped 5.3 percent to 100 yen after the United States and Japan reached a landmark aviation agreement.
That deal waives certain anti-trust rules, that allows alliance partners to share scheduling, pricing and other information, a combination of operating forces that have proven lucrative and an alternative to mergers.
JAL, which is seeking a state bailout, said in a statement that it intended to apply for immunity with a 'strategic U.S. partner' as soon as possible.
All Nippon Airways inched down 0.4 percent to 251 yen.
