John Bryan Shares His Views on Energy Storage, Grid Security and Monetizing Energy Services on January 21, 2010
Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) and Intelligent Communications Partners (ICP) today announced that John R. Bryan, President of the Secure Smart Grid Association, has been added to the list of keynote presenters at their Smart Grid Summit, taking place January 20-22 in Miami.
Mr. Bryan's keynote, scheduled for Thursday, January 21st at 1:30 PM, will present his views on energy storage, electricity grid security, and on monetizing energy services.
Smart Grid Summit is the first event of its kind to address the unprecedented opportunity coming from the intersection of two core building blocks of our economy – utilities and communications. Collocated with ITEXPO, Smart Grid Summit is based on the joint vision of TMC and Intelligent Communications Partners to create a new forum for and actively engage an entire community that has, until now, lacked a focal point.
"John Bryan's unique perspective on the management, security, and monetization of energy services has made him one of the most active, and sought-after speakers on the circuit, and we're pleased to share his expertise with the audience of the Smart Grid Summit," said Rich Tehrani, CEO and group editor-in-chief of TMC. "John's addition to the impressive lineup we've assembled for this conference makes it a must-attend for anyone interested in capitalizing on the current and future opportunities associated with smart grid technologies."
Mr. Bryan is the President of the Secure Smart Grid Association. He has previously served as Project Director for the Rocky Mountain Secure Smart Grid Initiative and he was Xcel Energy's Utility Innovations' program manager, where he was responsible for Xcel Energy's: Vehicle-to-Grid Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (V2G PHEV) project; its Smart-Grid-City Distributed Generation project; and the utility's Wind-to-Battery Energy Storage project.
"Security is one of the most important, yet least understood Smart Grid challenges," said Jon Arnold of ICP and Smart Grid Summit co-chair. "The SSGA will have an important role to play here, and our Summit will be one of the first events to bring this to the Smart Grid community."
Mr. Bryan is a former engineer from the automotive manufacturing industry. He has worked for a Tier 1 supplier to Ford, GM, Toyota, and others and he has also led telecommunications deployment programs for Qwest Communications. Prior to that, he was the owner and operator of a 25-employee rapid prototyping manufacturing plant.
Registration for the Smart Grid Summit is open, as well as registration for ITEXPO. Additional details on the Smart Grid Conference sessions are now live on the Smart Grid Conference Web site.
