Company to Kick off New Services at WEDI Forum; Selected by Sybase as Premier VAR for 5010 Solution
MindLeaf Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of HIPAA 5010 conversion services, today announced the availability of these services for clearinghouse, payer and provider organizations. As a proven leader with deep EDI, HIPAA and 4010 conversion experience and success, MindLeaf is utilizing its proven methodology, Q/A and compliance procedures — designed to meet the CMMI-SVC and ISO 9001 standards — for the impending 5010 conversion. In addition, MindLeaf has been selected by Sybase, Inc (NYSE: SY) as its premier value-added reseller of its HIPAA conversion solutions.
MindLeaf's introduced its new 5010 conversion services at the 2nd WEDI 5010, ICD-10 Forum, February 2nd through 4th, at the Hyatt Regency in Austin, TX. MindLeaf will be offering event attendees a limited number of complementary 5010 pre-engagement analysis packages on a first-come, first-serve basis. The 5010 analysis packages will include up to 40 hours of work by experienced EDI professionals and deliver a full inventory of affected EDI translation maps and transaction processes suitable for use with MindLeaf or any conversion services provider — or to support internal teams.
"Many organizations still see 5010 conversion as a future challenge, and they are not making it a 'now' issue," said Paresh Shah, MindLeaf president. "However, the Level I testing phase is already underway, and organizations that begin the process now will benefit from better quality and lower costs, while conversion vendors are still not in high demand. Companies that begin to transition now will also have time to get in front of unexpected issues and will also have a chance to run their 4010 and 5010 systems in parallel to ensure zero downtime through the transition."
The US Department of Health and Human Services has mandated that all HIPAA transaction formats for electronic data transmission must be updated from the current Version 4010 to the new Version 5010 by January 1, 2012. The 5010 conversion is being implemented to improve the effectiveness of EDI communications between providers and payers, and to accommodate the new ICD-10 coding standards which go into effect October 1, 2013. Under the new 5010 regulations, covered entities must complete Level I (internal readiness) testing by the end of 2010 and will then have one year to complete Level II testing which culminates in full readiness to go-live with fully compliant Version 5010 transactions.
