Great Opportunity for Evening News Live Shots
The ya es hora !HAGASE CONTAR! Census Coalition (It Is Time, Make Yourself Count!) will kick of Census national week of action with a Census assistance workshop and job fair. The event is designed to promote full Census participation. Media is invited to report on the event and interview members of the community filling their Census forms, elected officials, and other leaders. Activities will include:
- Census Form Assistance Center: trained Census volunteers will assist people in completing their Census forms.
- CensusJob Fair: U.S. Census Bureau jobs information will be made available, and applicants will have the opportunity to take the required Census test onsite.
- Census Hotline Marathon: Over 35 phone operators will staff NALEO's ya es hora phone bank center from 5:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. to provide callers with assistance in completing their Census forms.
- Free Food, Music & Giveaways: The event will be like a "block party" complete with a taco cart, refreshments, a DJ, and more – free of charge to the public.
The U.S. Census Bureau outreach van will be present at this event.
