Cam Kenyon then served in the United States navy from 1986 to 1994 in a variety of positions including pilot training officer, safety officer, mission commander and standardization pilot. He also attended the Aviation Safety Officer School at the Naval Postgraduate School in 1993 and obtained his juris doctorate from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1997.

Born in San Jose, Costa Rica, Cam Kenyon then spent his teen years in Pound Ridge, New York, and was stationed in several locations while serving in the United States navy.
