TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/27/11 -- Canadian cell phone users are finally seeing the same low prices as their American neighbours. In a world where prices always seem to be on the rise, Public Mobile announced that it is bringing roaming prices down to the lowest price ever in Canadian history. Public Mobile customers can roam starting on March 14th, 2011 at a cost that is the lowest in the country.
"We've always said that we want to offer all the value we can in the marketplace," said Alek Krstajic, Chief Executive Officer of Public Mobile. We want to make owning a cell phone affordable, and give everybody the chance to talk. Introducing roaming at a price far less than any other wireless carrier in Canada demonstrates Public Mobile's commitment to providing consumers with cell phone service they can afford."
Public Mobile's roaming coverage will allow all customers to use their phones outside of their unlimited coverage area. It will include most major cities in Ontario and Quebec, as well as areas in Nova Scotia, Manitoba, Alberta and B.C. In keeping with Public Mobile's philosophy of "no surprises", every customer will be assigned a wallet into which they can deposit money so that they personally maintain control over how much they spend on roaming each month. Roaming will be available as part of all Public Mobile plans.
The cost to make or receive a call to a Canadian or U.S. telephone number will be 15-cents per minute when the customer is in the roaming area. They can also receive International calls for 15-cents per minute while roaming. Outgoing texts are also 15-cents and incoming texts are free. Calls to the call centre and 911 are also free.
Public Mobile is Canada's lowest price for unlimited with plans starting at $24 month for unlimited talk. Public Mobile also offers predictable long distance plans with unlimited, overseas calling to 45 countries for $15 month. No contracts, no credit checks and no surprises.
