CANBERA (dpa-AFX) - During early Asian trading on Tuesday, the New Zealand dollar traded higher against major currencies. The kiwi climibed to a new multi-year high against the US dollar, more than a 1-month high against the yen, new multi-day highs against the European and Australian currencies.
Extending its previous session's uptrend, the kiwi advanced further against the US dollar and hit a fresh multi-year high of 0.8332 as of 5:35 pm ET.
The kiwi advanced further against its Japanese counterpart in today's early deals and currently trading near more than a 1-month high of 67.30. The pair closed last week's New York session at 67.05.
The NZ currency also edged up against the euro and the Australian dollar during early Asian session. The kiwi climbed to new multi-day highs of 1.2902 against the Aussie and 1.7464 versus the euro by about 5:35 pm ET.
New Zealand second quarter NZIER business opinion survey is expected to release at 6:00 pm ET.
