SAN JOSE (dpa-AFX) - Diversified software company Adobe Systems Inc. (ADBE) announced on Thursday that it will further align itself around the growth categories of Content Authoring and Digital Marketing, describing the growth as explosive in the two streams.
The company said the media and publishing segments are undergoing meteoric changes as publishers and media customers rush to digitize their print and video assets and experiment with a variety of business models to drive new revenue streams.
The company said its content authoring solutions are at the heart of this transformation.
Parallel to this, Adobe said marketers are developing dynamic new web experiences and applications to drive customer engagement and that marketers are increasingly moving their advertising dollars online. The company said digital advertising estimated to grow to $72 billion in 2011.
In this sphere, the company said its customer experience management and digital marketing solutions had a market-leading presence.
Seeking to further increase focus on these high-growth opportunities, the company today announced a number of organizational changes.
Senior vice president David Wadhwani will continue to lead Adobe's content authoring efforts, and would take on responsibility for Adobe's Acrobat business. Wadhwani currently oversees Adobe's Creative Solutions and Platform businesses.
The company said it would deliver more comprehensive solutions like the recently released Digital Publishing Solution, which allows publishers to create (with Adobe CS5.5), distribute (through all major app stores) and measure (with Omniture® analytics) publications for major platforms using flexible commerce models.
The company's digital marketing and enterprise solution efforts will be led by Adobe senior vice president Brad Rencher, who currently oversees Adobe's Omniture business. Rencher will now take on responsibility for Adobe's customer experience management solutions, which include the content management software business acquired from Day Software in March 2011.
San Jose, California-headquartered Adobe also announced that senior vice president Rob Tarkoff has decided to leave Adobe for another opportunity.
